Nogoa

Brighton, UK

The journey of Nogoa is a multifaceted one—woven from threads of music, art, adventure, and a relentless pursuit of creative expression. Rooted in the heart of London’s underground psytrance scene, Nogoa is a project that embodies both the cosmic and the earthly, a union of sound, nature, and community.

It all began in 2006, when a young Nogoa, alongside his older brother and friends, discovered the vibrant and transformative world of underground rave culture. The forest raves, squat parties, and psytrance beats in the heart of London unlocked something deep within him—an immediate connection to a space where minds were free to explore, expand, and connect. In this space, Nogoa found not just music, but a tribe, and it was here that his journey into the world of electronic music truly began.

Before fully immersing himself in DJing and the London psy scene, Nogoa embarked on a life-changing journey to South America. As part of an internship with the international student organization AIESEC, he lived and worked in Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Panama for nearly three years. This rich cultural experience helped shape his worldview, deepening his understanding of community, collective consciousness, and the beauty of human connection—values that would profoundly influence his music and art.

Upon returning to London, Nogoa dove deep into the city’s burgeoning psychedelic scene, becoming a vital part of its rhythm through DJing, playing at festivals like Boom, Modem, Yoga, Dharma, and Tree of Life. It was here that his passion for forest psy and darkpsy music blossomed. Inspired by these experiences, he launched his project Nogoa, blending deep soundscapes with his own vision of trance, connection, and exploration.

His journey took him further when he joined the iconic Polish label Medulla Oblongata in 2015, pioneers of forest psy. With them, he contributed to the legendary Fractal Forest trilogy, solidifying his place in the global psychedelic community. Yet Nogoa’s mission was always about more than just music—it was about fostering a sense of belonging, creating spaces of inspiration, and helping others unlock their own creative minds.

But Nogoa isn’t just a DJ. His love for creative expression spans beyond music. For 30 years, he has been an avid skateboarder, bringing a sense of freedom and flow to everything he does. His early years were also marked by a passion for DIY projects, including building remote-controlled sailing boats and competing in tournaments that culminated in a world championship appearance in Austria in 2002. His lifelong commitment to building and creating is as much a part of his identity as the music he plays.

Nogoa’s artistic journey also includes a deep love for photography and graphic design. Over the last five years, he has taken his visual artistry to the next level, creating stunning visuals and 3D projection mappings for local events and festivals across Europe. His designs bring a new dimension to the events he’s involved with, allowing him to merge his love for sound with his passion for visual storytelling.

Now, as a part of Muimina Sounds, Nogoa is ready to join forces under the mighty oak tree, where nature, community, and music come together in a harmonious celebration of life. With a heart rooted in creativity and a spirit set free by sound, Nogoa’s journey is about more than music—it's about connection, joy, and the endless possibilities that arise when we create together.
